Euro 2012 Qualifying - September 7, 2010 - Quick Results

With Full Time jumping back to European club football this weekend, we've given a quick little run down of today Europeans qualifier results. All the big teams and some of the supporting cast make up a busy match day in Europe!

England 3-1 Switzerland (Group G)
This is the first test of the campaign for an England side who are still riding high off a 4-0 drubbing of Bulgaria on the weekend. Wayne Rooney scored in the 10th minute to get the English side off to a quick start. Lazio defender Stephen Leichsteiner was sent off in the 65th minute for the Swiss. Adam Johnson and Darren Bent added the insurance as England goes to Switzerland and takes all 3 points against a stingy Swiss defense. Their next fixture pits them against Montenegro.

Italy 5-0 Faroe Islands (Group C)
Coach Cesare Prandelli made his return to Florence and led his men to a 5 goal thrashing of the Faroe Islands. Fiorentina hitman Alberto Gilardino had the opener 11 minutes in. De Rossi, Cassano and Quagliarella all found the net before Andrea Pirlo popped in an 18 yard free kick in stoppage time. Cassano proved to be the creative cog in the Italian side once again. The former world champions travel to Northern Ireland for their next test.

Germany 6-1 Azerbaijjan (Group A)
The Germans continued their efficient ways with 6-1 victory over Azerbaijjan. Miroslav Klose had two goals in the contest infront of his club fans at the Allianz arena. Fellow Bayern teammate Holger Badstuber also scored. Germany play Turkey next.

France finally gets back to winnings ways 2-0 over Bosnia & Herzegonia. Goals from Benzema and Malouda.

Portugal lost 1-0 to Norway. They now have 1 point from 2 games.

The Netherlands needed two Huntelaar goals to get passed Finland 2-1.

New Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted two as Sweden pumped San Marino 6-0.

Turkey defeated ten man Belgium 3-2, despite two Daniel Van Buynten goals.

Slovakia upset Russia once again in qualfying. They did it to them in the playoffs for a WC spot, now they've done it for the Euros. 1-0 was the final.

Lithuania upset the Czech Republic 1-0. The Czechs have been on the slide since WC 06.

Scotland needed a 90th minute McManus marker to defeat Leichenstein in Hampden park. Kenny Miller equalised after a Mario Frick opener. McManus put the scots over 2-1 in stoppage time.

Montenegro were victorious. This time they defeated Bulgaria 1-0.

Croatia and Greece played out a 0-0 draw.
